Not paying any attention and technology leaves me hanging 🙁

As I said before, my posts are made a couple days to 2 weeks before.

BUT …. Only if you do it correctly. And I screwed up miserably this time. Hence my 1 day no post.

I didn’t check till last night.

Luckily I am very computer savvy. Although I am dated back to the big screens (IBM), no laptops and big floppy disks (who knows these things still?) and no cellphones (hard to believe), I managed to stay up to date.

I know how to handle both windows and apple computers, have no problem picking up new programs and I am still capable to make a decent website.

Not a lot of people my age and even younger can say that.

Anyway, despite that, I am not perfect and I make mistakes.

And the “good” thing of making mistakes or errors or failures is, you learn from it and you move on.

For me, for now, back to making posts.

Work on your business, not only in your business is something I repeat often.

A lot of business owners work in their business night and day. Eventually they burn out and give up.

The moment people around them see it happen, is often too late.

They are still working in their business, but they already have given up and are thinking about selling everything. The only thing what keeps them going is that they don’t really like to sell their “baby”, but they don’t see another way out.

When a business reaches a certain plateau it’s not useful to keep on struggling. You have to look for the reason why. You need help. (I know, hard to admit). You have to look in your business to see what is going on.

Of coarse, I don’t only teach people to start their business through my course. While doing the course I also help them one step after another to actually do it.

But I also do the same for business owners who already have their business, who struggle to move forward, who only work in their business and are fed up with it.

Tomorrow will be my husband’s 65-th birthday, today we will celebrate it with family and some friends.

Because our house isn’t that big, we hopefully can do it all outside. Weather permitted.

Barbeque, firepit, music and some good food will be provided. And I know for sure it will be a great evening. Everything is ready.

Reaching the age of 65 doesn’t mean he will stop working right away. He still loves his work and although he doesn’t mind doing a bit less, he still goes behind his computer looking forward to what the day will bring.

I don’t mind that he will continue working. Although I can work from every place in the world, I like to sit behind my computer and do the things I like to do, from behind my own desk in all the peace and quietness.

Of coarse I can continue to do my work when he retires, but it will be different.

I have always considered the people around me. And I have to admit, sometimes too much.

I had to learn to step back and do the things I really wanted despite the “complaints” from other people.

For now, not something I have to consider or think over for the next 2 years.

So this post is nice and short. Hope you guys have a fantastic Saturday!!

Fear of missing out

Selling is hard. Unless you know how to use the psychology of the human mind.

Someone told me lately why it is possible for famous artist to ask excessive amounts of money for their tickets.

It’s simple. The marketeers are using the “fear of missing out” method to sell a ticket. They are making all the fans super enthusiastic that their idol is coming to town. They also have performances at select places. And the amount of tickets are, because of it, limited.

Of coarse the fans have to buy the tickets as soon as possible otherwise they will be sold out.

Especially organizations as “a certain company” use this tactic. If there are a lot of people interested, the prices will go up. Price versus demand. It’s a tactic used for ages.

They can do that, because the fans are afraid they will miss out. Because the next tour will not be done in years. Access to buy tickets is limited. It will be their only change to see their idol.

So, they buy….

You probably have also see this happen on a smaller scale. I know I used it.

For instance a coaching opportunity of a well know person. “Selected places available” “Before you are admitted, you have to talk to our team first”. That kind of “making it unique” or selections will be used. It makes you want to pay more for that “special” spot.

And even if you know that you are manipulated like that, you still will buy that ticket or you will buy for your spot for that coaching option.

Because that makes us people unique.

And although I use this tactic too, I still keep the price available. The amount of money I ask, you will earn back within 90 days. I mean, $295 per month isn’t a huge amount for all the information you get. But that’s my opinion.

(Just an end note: their are artists/singers who don’t appreciate the price game by “a certain company”)

S.M.A.R.T

In general S.M.A.R.T. is used for goal setting, but of coarse it can be used for everything you plan. Doesn’t matter if it’s long term or for the day.

If you never heard of it, SMART is short for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely.

To link back to my planning of these posts, for years I just did something and left it to that.

There was no need for me to “organize” my planning and I just did things during the day at moments I felt like it.

I had clients, I got enough money coming in, I had no worry in the world.

Of coarse, I told everybody who I came across and who I helped out, that they certainly couldn’t work like I did, That they had to follow the smart-option and become organized.

Good thing I never told them how I worked.

Recently I became a part of a group of coaches who were doing the exact same thing as I did, but for different clients. Some of them were like me, some totally opposite. But we were all teaching the same stuff to our clients and “forgot” to do it ourself.

Not very SMART…..

So under the influence, no not the booze, but my colleague’s, I slowly changed things. All together we started with the short version of our course. And ….

Oh my, so much extra time I have now.

So, my advice is do like me. Sign up for the course. You get more money on your bank and at the same time more time to do the fun times.

Working for yourself often creates unexpected activities, once in a while. It’s impossible to plan everything from start to finish, 24/7.

The only thing I constantly try to plan for sure are my social media activities, such as these posts.

Don’t tell anybody, but sometimes I lie. Ssstttt .

Well kind off. I write a post as if it all happened at the day that it is posted. But that’s not always true. Basically, because almost every post is written a day till 2 weeks before I put it out there.

Scheduling all these posts ahead of time gives me a change to be able to react to unexpected things, like a client who suddenly needs some extra time to go over things. Or one of my animals get sick. Or one of the kids need my or our help.

Or just, because I don’t have the energy to do anything that day or I just want to take a day off.

Try to tell that to your boss, especially last minute. Not many are understandable, of coarse depending on your boss or the kind of job you do.

Anyway, for that reason I work for myself and for that reason I plan all this posts ahead of time.

Schedule or time-management are important to keep you from thing doing it last minute (which only create unnecessary stress) or not been able to do the important things at all.

Even worse, when you have to skip important daily tasks, it can also lead to procrastination. And nobody is waiting for that!

Funny thing for me, I like to write these short stories or informative blogs. Often when I am working on one, other ideas pop up in my head. I have a lot of little sticky notes around me with new idea’s to write about.

And most important, it clears my head, relaxes me and give me some sort of new energy. I know, sound strange. But it works for me.

Yesterday I got visitors. And they will stay for a couple of days. They are my sister-in-law and her husband.

It’s good that all the kids left the house. One of their rooms is reasonable large and kind of in the basement where they stay.

We have a strange house with 4 levels. The lowest level is completely in the basement, with no windows at all. We have a bathroom there and the laundry. The rest is basically storage.

The level above is a half basement. The two big rooms still have a big window, but are also half “under ground”. Nice and cool in the summer for sure.

One of these room is changed now to our guest room. Queen bed, and some extra space for a little desk and a chair.

It’s so nice that I want to rent it out over time. There is a entrance which people can use without going through our front door (which is impossible anyway, because of the dog) And they have the use of their own toilet and bathroom area. They can even park their car on their “own” entrance.

But for now it is used by our friends and family when they stay over.

Only thing is that doing some work behind the computer is minimal at the moment. I am not the kind of person to say “Have fun, I am gone for a couple of hours. Sorry”

Good thing I can schedule all these post 🙂

I started with making these posts just over a month ago. Every day a new post.

Since the beginning of these week I started posting twice a day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon.

I do this, because I also share everything to my Facebook pages and my Instagram. I want to up my reach slowly over time. My planning is to add video’s too on these social media platforms, but than through YouTube.

Every time someone likes a post on here, or starts following me, I receive an email from WordPress to notify me.

It started with one email, than 2 and at a certain moment I got 5 to 8 mails per day.

Not a huge amount, not exactly my target audience, but it certainly gave my ego a boost hahaha.

Then, when I started with 2 posts a day it stopped….. Nothing any more.

Does this mean that WordPress doesn’t like it that I post twice a day???

Not that I care much at this moment. Unless someone can show me that posting here will be a good thing. That I will get more clients and will be give me an ability to earn some money?

Any way, I will continue posting twice a day. Even when WordPress doesn’t like it.
