A long time ago

It has been a long time ago that I posted my last post.  Life hasnt changed much. It’s still nice weather outside so still busy there. Getting ready for the winter. I bought 20 big round bales of hay which would be enough to get the 2 girls and the 2 guys through the winter. I only need another 600 small squares for my mares. I havent had the guts yet to call my hay supplier for his prizes. I supect they are not going to be  affortable for me 😦

My oils are my other things which keep me busy.  No not oils to cook or for the car. My Young Living Essential Oils. I love them. I sell them. With the selling part I started a couple of months ago. Till now I am unfortunately spending more then that I am earning. But that will change. In the future.

Busy, busy

It’s been a long day.

Been basically busy with making information sheets about 2 oils and 2 oil blends of Young Living, a sheet about their Premium Starters Kit and an introduction letter about myself. All if it together with 4 examples are on their way to Edmonton to a faithful follower of my Facebook page. Fingers crossed she is going to be one of my distributers in the future. I need two to continue and to build out my business.

I have used my oils today on my daughter. With a headache and pain in her neck I have massaged some PanAway, Lavender and Peppermint combined with some massage oil as carrier onto her neck. She should be way better tomorrow.

Tomorrow (or by now today) I am going to start with my business card too. And riding out my last pile of manure 😊. Then I have done two more important things which have to be done today.

I am going to sleep now. 😴

Mane Event/Play Offs Flames-Canucks

We crazy horse people like to go to the Mane Event.  3 Days all kind of things about horses.  Of course we know that we have to reduce these 3 days to 1, which is healthier for the wallet. And it is a 2 hours drive to get there is maybe a reason too.

We saw some clinics. One was a complete waste of time. The lady gave information about things my daughter knew already when she was five years old and even my non-horse husband knew all about it.  The other lady was about starting a young colt. Also not much information which was new for me but my daughter liked to hear it.  It was just too long.

The last one was interesting though. Not because it was much new information but the way they told everything. We had a good laugh for almost an hour.

Coming home just before diner I could pick up my first cheque for the fundraising for Bear Valley Rescue. I will tell more about them in a future post(s). I really hope more people will follow but till now it’s very disappointing.

The night ended perfect thought. The play off game was again tonight. The Calgary Flames against Vancouver Canucks. My gosh my heart stopped a couple of times.  Out of the 7 games the winner has to win 4 games to go to the next rounds. At the moment the Flames had won 3 games against 2 by the the Canucks.  In the first 20 minutes the Canucks manage to get to score 3 time.  In the second 20 minutes the Flames game back. The third 20 minutes they started the game 4-3 for the Canucks.  Then finally the flames scored, and 5 minutes before the end they scored again. And in the last minutes the scored another 2 point.

Anaheim Ducks here we come 😄

Busy day

Today it’s been a busy day despite the cold weather. After a trip to town to get some things to keep my dahlia’s up, I have been riding out my manure again.

Sitting on a tractor, how can that be hard you would say, but it is.  I have a so called compact tractor, with a appropriate size manure spreader behind it.  3 or 4 buckets of my tractor and it is completely topped off. Then I have to hook the tractor on, ride to the place I need to spread it, get off my tractor to take the hook from my spreader to make the band move which moves the manure to the back and let the wheels spin to spread it out. When it’s empty I unhook it again and fill the spreader again. The jumping on/off every time I feel when I go to bed.  Yes I am out of everything what has anything to do with muscles and I am getting old.

But… I am half way now.  From last year and 2 years ago is gone (Yes!!!) and a part from the last couple of months. Hopefully I will be able to ride out every thing.

Tonight I placed a post on 6 sites to sell bulbs for Bear Valley Rescue. Frans already collected for 200 dollar (50% is for BVR), I got the first 2 reactions within an hour.  Hopefully I get a lot more.

Tomorrow it’s going to be a long day too.  Darya and me are going to Red Deer, to the Mane Event. Horse stuff. Looking forward to it.

Long time

It’s been a long time since my last post.  Lot of things have happened.

  • The weather is so beautiful. Although it gave me a terrible headache for 3 days it also means the plants and grass is starting to grow. I started with riding out the manure over the fields. Load after load. The manure spreader isn’t that big, so after every 3 or 4 buckets I can hook it on and start spreading.
  • A mam with 2 daughters were looking for horses to ride on. Know it all. Maybe you know how it works.  I like mom, I not so like the oldest daughter. After two times riding Toby I have trouble getting close to him. Darya had the chance to have a constant look at her and is now extremely angry.  Kicking Toby for nothing, taking out the briddele quiet rude and throwing my saddle in the dust isn’t something I like either. So next Sunday we have to have the talk. Behave or get lost. How hard can it be.
  • The oils are not getting well. Failure after failure is my feeling.  Maybe I have to be more on top of it. I don’t know. I sold my first 4 bottles (profit  à 5 dollar each) and could use my square (yeah!!) At least home is using it very well for all kind of pains and sorrows.
  • Work is maybe going to be 1.5 days a week. Don’t know if I really want that but at least it’s something extra. Maybe I have to look out for a real job considering the circumstances..
  • Just one week left and College and University are closed for the summer. Both Fréderique and Béliana have done quiet well their first year.

That’s a short list of what had happened last 2 or 3 weeks.  Will try to post a bit more from now on.

My life

My Life

My life is simpel. I am a stay at home mom of 3 wonderful daughters who are all (almost) adults. The youngest turned 17 yesterday and thinks she is a adult, so we try to tread her like one most of the times. But unfortunately for her she is still our little baby.

She is still in high school, grade 11. Unbelievable good grades (not my genes), loves to play basketball, her friends and her pony. Always ready to help and terribly spoiled at the same time.

Our number 2 is 19, going to the University. Crazy about basketball (yes, playing for the team)  and totally focused on becoming an orthodontist. For now she almost finished her first year with good to reasonable grades.

Our oldest is 22. What happened to all these years. She is learning to become a Broadcast Engineer Technician and loves working with the computers and networks.

Hubby is busy. Starts at 5.30 in the morning, busy-busy at work, home at 6.30 at night. Long days but he enjoys his work and that is important. Not a lot of people can say that.

ME is home. Taking care of the youngest (a bit), taking care of the animals the rest of the time, trying to start a new activity with this blog and going to be a Aroma Therapist and working (safely!) with Essential Oils, preferable with animals.

Most exciting about that. This week I started with setting up the beginning of this new activity. Choose a name for the website (WhyOils.ca), started an Facebook page (Why Oils Canada) and since today my first client.

Scary and Excited and ….. I have to prepare myself. Lots to do before my first chat.

Start with Baudina

There it is. The title. “Start with Baudina”. “Start with what” is probably the first question which pops into your head.

There are a couple of things I like to start with. I like to make my house a model house. But I have to face it. I am a terrible housewife and cleaning isn’t exactly number one on my to-do list. Please don’t think my house is a disgusting mess because it isn’t. It’s clean. Kind of. Just not a model house. We live in this house. Together with 1 and a half dogs (it’s a chihuahua. You can’t talk about it as a whole dog when you look at it), 2 cats, a bird and two guinea pigs.

like to start to work in my garden again. Despite the fact that we live basically at the only place in Canada where there isn’t 4 feet snow (none at the moment to be precise), the ground is still frozen. And till the end of May we still can expect snow.

really want to start with training my horses but for some stupid reason I can’t find the time. I will probably run out of excuses as soon as everything warms up a bit.

am also very excited to start with Aroma Therapy, being an official Therapist and start helping horses, cats and dogs (and also people) with the Young Living Essential Oils. Working hard on that part.

Now the only question left to the World: With what do you like to start?

Hello world!

This is my very first post. And I like to answer the first and very important question (or maybe 2 questions):

Who am I? Why am I here?

As the name of this blog already shows, my name is Baudina. Originally from the Netherlands and now in Canada, in a small town close to Calgary Alberta. Almost 9 years ago we (my hubby, 3 daughters, the dog, my horse and me) moved to this great country and till now we never had any regret.

We moved to an small acreage (small in Canada, huge in the Netherlands) after 6 months and never left since. We have a beautiful view of the mountains, it’s quiet, neighbours are not very close by and the amount of horses has been going up from 1 to now 7. Must say officially 6 because one is borrowed from the Bear Valley Rescue (http:\\www.bearvalleyab.org) for a short period of time but never left. We added a couple of cats and dogs, and my life is complete. 🙂

Reason to start this blog is dual. My husband started a blog when we left the Netherlands. Just to keep the family back home up to date with our life far away. Unfortunately he was not able to continue after his father passed away a couple of years ago. So this is my first reason to start this blog. To kind of continue where he left but then on a bit smaller scale. And I intend to put myself more in the front instead of the family (sorry guys).

The second reason is to set up my own little store by trying to sell Young Living Essential Oils. Yes I know, I wont be a millionaire by becoming a independent distributor, but at least I can try and start small. With my own website I like to add a blog and see what will happen. Maybe I can even earn some little money with this blog. (Hello sponsors where are you?)
