My answer to this question is yes. How do you think everybody else has started??

General questions are: Is it even possible to start a business when you don’t have experience? Is it even possible to start a business when you have never provided the service you are offering? In short, is it possible to offer a product or service without references??

Of coarse you can.

Although the general advice is that you just start “till you wing it”, what you better can do is having colleagues back you up.

For example use the references from people who sell exactly the same products as you do.

Never, ever just “create” your own references.

For services, you can offer some free services to get some experience and get the reference from these people.

By the way, always ask from everyone who you worked with or who bought your product to provide you with a review or reference.
