Fear of missing out

Selling is hard. Unless you know how to use the psychology of the human mind.

Someone told me lately why it is possible for famous artist to ask excessive amounts of money for their tickets.

It’s simple. The marketeers are using the “fear of missing out” method to sell a ticket. They are making all the fans super enthusiastic that their idol is coming to town. They also have performances at select places. And the amount of tickets are, because of it, limited.

Of coarse the fans have to buy the tickets as soon as possible otherwise they will be sold out.

Especially organizations as “a certain company” use this tactic. If there are a lot of people interested, the prices will go up. Price versus demand. It’s a tactic used for ages.

They can do that, because the fans are afraid they will miss out. Because the next tour will not be done in years. Access to buy tickets is limited. It will be their only change to see their idol.

So, they buy….

You probably have also see this happen on a smaller scale. I know I used it.

For instance a coaching opportunity of a well know person. “Selected places available” “Before you are admitted, you have to talk to our team first”. That kind of “making it unique” or selections will be used. It makes you want to pay more for that “special” spot.

And even if you know that you are manipulated like that, you still will buy that ticket or you will buy for your spot for that coaching option.

Because that makes us people unique.

And although I use this tactic too, I still keep the price available. The amount of money I ask, you will earn back within 90 days. I mean, $295 per month isn’t a huge amount for all the information you get. But that’s my opinion.

(Just an end note: their are artists/singers who don’t appreciate the price game by “a certain company”)
