This morning I posted about having a passion for your business and why it would help you big time to make your business successful.
Since I posted this, an example came into my head which I want to share with you. Something I have seen many times when going to local (farmers-)markets. And if you go to these markets, you will see it for yourself.
As I said yesterday, your passion for your business, for your product, will show. It will make your future clients curious about what you have and it will help them decide to buy from you and try it out.
Your passion, when you are selling, is showing by how you interact with people. It will persuade people passing by to stop and have a look.
When I go to these markets, you can see exactly who is passionate about what they have and who is not. You will find a lot of people with these passionate vendors. Listening, laughing, being curious.
These vendors are ready to talk with people, they are enthusiastic, they stand there with a smile showing how good their product is, what you can do with it, why you would miss out when you don’t buy it, etc.
Most of the vendors are the opposite. They sit on their chair, tired, I even have seen them reading a book, they smile when you pass buy and that’s it. “It was a bad crowed today” …… Right.
The rules about marketing are exactly the same here as everywhere else in your business. You have to interrupt people to make them stop. You have to engage them, be pleasant and enthusiastic about your product. You have to educate them about your product and you have to give them an offer to make it attractive for them to pull their credit card.
So if you are a vendor on markets like this, try it out. Think about how you are going to interrupt, engage and educate them. Think about an offer they can’t refuse based on what you told them. Than bring it into practice.
