Don’t pretend

“Fake it till you make it” is something I hear and heard a lot. Personally I think this is so wrong.

Why?

Unfortunately some people translate this into lying. I see it in my business happening a lot.

Lying to your customers is something I would never want you do. You won’t like it if it happens to you, your customers won’t like it when you do it to them.

As an example, instead of pretending to know the answer to their questions, you can let them know that you are not entirely sure at the moment and that you have to get back to them. You can even add that you think the answer is “….”. But don’t give them an answer as if it’s true while it is not.

As soon as your customer can’t trust you anymore, you have lost them. And probably forever.

And with the social media nowadays, news travels many times faster. Which means, the bad news reaches your leads before you can blink your eye.

With the internet you can find your new customers fast, you can loose them even faster.

Always keep that in mind.
