Lawn mowers

My horses are lawn mowers. Very lucky lawn mowers. Less fortunate or less passioned people would probably has sold them already and shipped them off to slaughter.

My 2 old guys (Reese and Toblerone or Toby) were already on that wagon but together with a couple of others pulled of the wagon and put up for sale. I went looking for one of them. And I can home with 3 of them. The mare (nr.3) has passed away a couple of years ago. The guys are still there. In their twenties and too old to do anything anymore. Accept for mowing the lawn.

Then I have my mares.

One of them isn’t even mine. She (Royal) came 3 years ago with her foal and she never left. Owner is Bear Valley Rescue (http://www.bearvalleyab.org/index.html). I know. But I just feel so sorry for her. I don’t want to send her back to a herd of 100 plus horses, while she clearly enjoys her stall at night with me (She is the only one who only poops inside. The other do their business outside in their run-out). She has been a breed mare, has a terrible sacked back and you guessed it right: lawn mowers.

Then we have Oreo. Guess what colours she has. My daughters pony. The only rideable one. Till a couple of months back. She foundered severely.

Next one is my mare Gracia. My prospect. My horse which would take me to the higher levels of dressage. Till she met a nail. Lame since then. The next lawn mower.

Last 2 are Royal and Gracia’s foals (Diamond and Cornelia). 3 Years of age now. 1.5 Years to go before I can start them and we can ride them. Guess what they are doing now. Right: mowing the lawn.
